On the February 19 episode of tvN’s variety show “You Quiz on the Block” (You Quiz), Cha Joo-young appeared as a guest.
During the show, host Yoo Jae-suk mentioned Cha Joo-young’s breakout role in Netflix’s series “The Glory”, asking, “Everyone in ‘The Glory’ received high praise for their performances. Did you expect the drama to be this successful?”
Cha Joo-young responded, “I knew it would do well. I was not only a part of the cast, but I also watched how other actors performed. Everyone on set gave it their all and was truly desperate to deliver their best.”
She continued, “I once asked the director, ‘How did you come up with the idea of forming ‘The Glory’ cast?’ He said he saw how much the actors genuinely wanted it. Even though we were all very close, we never had casual conversations on set. It was strictly about the work—come prepared, perform and leave. We all felt that ‘The Glory’ had to succeed, and we couldn’t afford to let anyone down. Everyone worked incredibly hard.”
Cha Joo-young also revealed that she remains close with Song Hye-kyo and Lim Ji-yeon, saying, “We still meet up, talk about our projects, and just hang out comfortably.” She added, “When we get together, we eat a lot. We always go for delicious food and relieve stress that way. We even go to pubs and sometimes order 20 plates of food.”
